Olympus acquired market leader Gyrus ACMI® in 2008 to expand our portfolio of minimally invasive surgical diagnosis and treatment technologies. Together, our integrated healthcare solutions advance visualization and tissue treatment options that improve clinical outcomes and patient quality of life. In 2012, we formed the subsidiary Olympus Surgical Technologies America to unify our North American Gyrus ACMI facilities under one organizational umbrella. This subsidiary of Olympus develops and manufactures devices utilized in three surgical focus areas:
- Urology and Gynecology
- Surgical Energy
- Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT)
Key innovations include: HALO® PKS Cutting Forceps, PKS Omni® Bipolar Cutting, UroPass® Ureteral Access Sheath, Double-J® Ureteral Stent, Disposable Tonsil Adenoid Debrider, Diego® Powered Dissector System, and vent tubes and implants.
